We love teaching others about wine. Through the winemaking experience, we found that people come the first time for the wine and come back again for the community & the fun. Over 85% of our winemakers are return clients!
But, the first time is the toughest. People get anxious about organizing a group & wonder if they have enough people to share the expense of 20 cases of wine. $3700 is a big number!
Then, what kind of wine? What is the best date to choose for all the folks participating? Now I have to collect their $$?! Whew!
Relax, we have you covered! By yourself or with a few friends who would like to join you for a case or two, you can buy-in on a barrel & we do the rest. The date, the wine selection & the money collection is handled by us. Meet new people & come make a da wine!
The first barrel being offered:
• A California Bordeaux Style wine with the following grape varietals:
o 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot
• The name is “Bordeaux 01CA2017”
• Timeline
o The Crushing will occur on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 1:00 PM
o The Pressing will occur on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at 1:00 PM
o The Racking will occur on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at 1:00 PM
o The Bottling will occur in May 2018 on a Saturday at 1:00 PM (exact date to be determined) After this barrel is sold out, we will offer another to buy into.
• Winemakers can sign up on a case by case basis at $185 per case
o Sign up to make one or more cases and/or
o Buy gift certificates for friends, people having birthdays, weddings, etc., that will allow the receiver to make one or more cases
• Winemakers can sign up for one or more cases and join as many different barrels as we are able to offer
• Winemakers will need to email umakeadawine@aol.com to sign up
o Payment (cash/check/cc) must be received prior to the beginning of the crush
